Helpful Tips
Gas pressure is expressed in terms of pounds, ounces, or inches of water column.
1 psi = 16 ozs. = 28” w.c.
.50 psi = 8 ozs. = 14” w.c.
.25 psi = 4 ozs. = 7” w.c.
Gas Volume –
Gas flow rate is measured in Cubic Feet per Hour (CFH)
Equivalents –
For Natural Gas: There are approx. 1000 BTU’s per Cubic Foot
For LP Gas: There are approx. 2500 BTU’s per Cubic Foot
MBH = 1000 btu’s per hour (Ex. 3000 MBH = 3,000,000 btu’s/hr)
LP Gas –
Capacity charts for Natural Gas should be factored x.63 to get LP gas capacities.
